Samcheok Police Station, Taebaek Police Station, Gangneung Police Station, and Jeongseon County Office,
participated in the joint crackdown.
On the same day, the crackdown team discovered one subsidiary, which is equivalent to the regional
headquarters of online illegal gambling sites, and one unauthorized game business,
and seized about 20 Internet PCs. It has been confirmed that the bet amount of the two
businesses for two months is about 18 billion won.
Kangwon Land and Jeongseon Police Station signed a business agreement in 2022 to prevent illegal gambling and
established a business cooperation system to crack down on illegal game venues and
gambling activities and continue to carry out joint prevention activities.
According to Kangwon Land, it conducted two joint crackdowns with related organizations,
including Jeongseon Police Station and the Integrated Supervisory Commission of the
gambling industry, in March and June to prevent the recent indiscriminate spread of illegal gambling, and
uncovered illegal Holdum Pubs and adult PC rooms in Sabuk-eup.
Meanwhile, Kangwon Land operates a reporting reward system to take the lead in eradicating illegal
gambling, encouraging citizens to participate actively, and strengthening reporting and
monitoring activities such as strengthening the confidentiality of reporters and establishing
standards for payment of reporting rewards based on the size of gambling sites and the
contribution of informants.
